Renewable Parts Appoint Product Recirculation Manager

RENFREW, Scotland - May 2, 2024 - PRLog -- Renewable Parts have been at the forefront of establishing a circular economy in the UK wind industry for over a decade, and during that time the business has developed a comprehensive in-house refurbishment and remanufacturing facility in Lochgilphead on the west coast of Scotland.

This facility refurbishes wind turbine component parts - both onshore and offshore - at scale for utilities and service companies both in the UK and overseas, and even supplies refurbished parts back to the turbine manufacturers for fitting to turbines under service agreements.

With the overall business employing over 40 people, almost half of those work in the remanufacturing workshop, including 4 current apprentices. The location has evolved in recent years from an engineering workshop to a production facility, where recirculated parts are finished to industry leading standards with rigorous testing and certification,.

Leading that development in the workshop overt the last 5 years has been Magnus Firth, who will now move into his new role of Product Recirculation Manager where he will represent Renewable Parts on diverting as much material as possible from scrap and landfill and into reuse.

Having overseen a program of continuous improvement and roll out of lean and six sigma principles in recent years, Magnus has been leading the workshop on the recirculation of several hundred tonnes of material and will continue to lead the team to introduce and scale up as many recirculated products as possible.
