CAMBRIDGE, U.K. - Nov. 2, 2021 - PRLog -- World renowned Professor Imafidon and chair of the UK-based multi-award winning programme (ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk)  calls on all western institutions in possessions of Benin bronzes and African loots to follow the lead of Jesus College, of Cambridge University or Aberdeen University and return them during a historic restitution ceremony in Cambridge Britain.

Prof. Chris Imafidon, a descendant of Benin Kingdom, in his emotional laden speech said, (in Edo langusge)  "Oba Akenzua II's son, (Prince Solomon Akenzua) coincidentally studied at this same Cambridge University several years ago. Long live the Oba of Benin. Today is more than just a ceremony, it is more symbolic, more significant and bigger than all of us here, it goes back many centuries. It fills me with great joy and emotions to stand here today to witness 'Okukor' the bird flying home. We always say that the bird, no matter how far away it flies or walks, it will always come back to its origin."

Imafidon, a multi-Guinness world record holder saluted Sonita Alleyne, the master of Jesus College, for the leadership shown in the return of the stolen artefacts, which he said would be acknowledged not only by this generation but also by those yet unborn.

Imafidon, known as head of Britain's brainiest family honours the Oba of Benin with ceremonial greeting at the Benin Bronze Restitution Ceremony at Jesus College, University of Cambridge.

Professor Chris Imafidon honoured and welcomed the Oba of Benin and spoke highly of the Oba of Benin's Great grandfather who studied at Cambridge at the Benin Bronze Restitution Ceremony at Jesus College, Cambridge. Imafidon tells a story of when the Oba of Benin's great grandfather was at University he saw the Benin Bronze Cockerel and said the cock that flies away will always fly back - this event was symbolic of its homecoming. He also alluded to the Craftmanship of the carving of the metal of the cockerel has been passed down through the centuries. It is significant because its the first artefact to be returned to Africa since the looting of 1897.
