WASHINGTON - Aug. 18, 2023 - PRLog -- Trattoria Enoteca MAX will host "La Calabria Attraverso i Racconti Forum Day," an exciting return journey to discover territories at the crossroads of peoples, cultures, and traditions that have called the Mediterranean home in different phases of history. The event will be moderated by renowned journalist Gianfranco Manfredi, an expert in food and wine, with the contribution of "Chef of the Two Worlds" Amy Riolo, who is of Calabrian origin as well as an author and TV personality in Washington D.C., and Silvestro Parise, Consultor of the Calabria Region in Germany.

Arcadians, Oenotri, Achaeans, and then Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Normans will be recalled by not only archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, and linguists, but also by a qualified team from The Association of Pythagorean Cooks. Led by Chefs Salvatore -Sasà- Murano, Gaetano Alia, Luigi Ammirati, Vincenzo Murano, Daniele Viola, Luigi Quintieri, and Pierluigi Vacca who will illustrate, with their dishes, how Calabria is a land of cross-cultural encounters and contaminations, each of which contributed to its food and wine heritage.

The original event to be held on August 21, 2023, is an all-round narrative that will involve, among others, Greek scholar Pasquale Casile, Professor Giuseppe Sommario ("root tourism" scholar), anthropologist Alfonsina Bellio (École Pratique des Hautes Études-EPHE -PSL), Professor Daniele Castrizio (University of Messina), archaeologist Roberto Spadea and Dr. Battista Liserre (Professor at the University of Picardie and Consultor of the Calabria Region in France).

"It has been a lifelong dream of mine to participate in positive and impactful initiatives in my ancestral homeland of Calabria. Calabrian Culinary Ambassador and Archeology Enthusiast Chef Salvatore Murano of MAX Trattoria Enoteca and his Association of Pythagorean Cooks are the perfect hosts for this unique cultural-culinary event. I've been a fan of each of the participants' work long before I had the pleasure of knowing them personally.  I'm also very grateful to Mr. Silvestro Parise and Dr. Battista Liserre for including me in the project," says Amy Riolo.

The day long forum offers an opportunity to discover and rediscover the story of Calabria as it has never been told before.  Being the  first -interdisciplinary and initiative event of its kind, La Calabria Attraverso I Racconti's purpose is to stimulate initiatives related to root tourism.
