Trade Engine to deliver Government-subsidised retrofit training programmes to create 300 new roles

Supported by the Department for Energy, Security and Net-Zero and the Midlands Net-Zero Hub

Trade Engine are delighted to announce that we have been selected as one of the
delivery partners by the Midlands Net-Zero Hub, for the Government's Home
Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition (Phase 2).

This scheme provides grants towards a range of training opportunities for individuals to
enter the UK's energy efficiency and retrofit sectors, or those looking to upskill. Retrofit
is an exciting growth-industry, with new standards such as PAS 2035 creating roles
that are now in significant demand. It is estimated that 27 million properties will require
some form of retrofit intervention by 2030 for the UK's net-zero targets to be met.

In partnership with Synergy Training Centre, Trade Engine will offer three key
courses, all of which are accredited by either ABBE or NOCN:

• Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management – creating 150 new Retrofit Coordinators to oversee the implementation of PAS 2035;
• Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Assessors – creating 50 new Assessors;
• Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older & Traditional Buildings – 100 places are available to existing retrofit professionals to work in this critical area.

Interested candidates are invited to apply for these opportunities between now and
March 2024. Trade Engine and Synergy offer a unique approach to retrofit training,
which we deliver in a learner-led fashion, using a blend of eLearning, online meetings
and in-person training. This allows us to offer training across all Local Net Zero Hub
regions from our bases in the East and West Midlands.
