Shaler Democratic Committee Is Making a Positive Impact in the Community

PITTSBURGH - Jan. 4, 2024 - PRLog -- The Shaler Democratic Committee has been actively engaged in their local community, tirelessly working to make a positive impact through various initiatives. From providing scholarships to supporting inclusive events, the Shaler Democratic Committee has demonstrated their commitment to the well-being and prosperity of the community they serve.

In 2023, the Shaler Democratic Committee awarded three scholarships to deserving high school seniors in the Shaler Area School District. Two of the scholarships were for $1,000, and the third was for $500. By investing in the younger generation, they aim to create more opportunities for the future leaders of the community.

In addition, the Shaler Democratic Committee hosted a candidate meet and greet while extending their support to the Shaler Backpack Initiative. The Committee and their supporters generously donated more than 2,000 essential items for students in need. This initiative ensures that children who experience food insecurity have child-friendly, single-serving snacks and easily prepared meals available on the weekend.

The Shaler Democratic Committee is a strong supporter of diversity and inclusivity. Their sponsorship of Pride Millvale showcases their commitment to creating a welcoming and accepting community. By actively participating in events that celebrate diversity, the party aims to promote equality and acceptance.

As a co-host for Rally for Our Rights with Progress PA, the Shaler Democratic Committee demonstrated their commitment to defending and promoting the rights of all individuals. This event offered a platform for community members, elected officials, and candidates to come together, express their opinions, and take a stand for the causes they believe in.

They have also shown their compassion by lending a helping hand to those in need. Their involvement in events such as Community Thanksgiving provided by Ruckus Coffee Gallery, Earth Day Cleanup with Millvale Community Development Corporation, Banned Book Bingo with North Hills Progressive Neighbors & Progress PA, and their partnership with the Young Democrats of Allegheny County to raise funds for the victims of the East Palestine Ohio railway accident exemplify their dedication to making a difference, not only within their own community but also beyond its boundaries.

At their holiday party in December, the Committee raised $550 to benefit the food pantry at the Christ Lutheran Church in Millvale and gathered more than 60 new toys that were donated to North Hills Community Outreach.

The Committee has also worked closely with Democratic candidates by co-sponsoring the Allegheny County Executive Candidate Forum, canvassing with candidates, and donating to campaigns. By providing their expertise and support, the Shaler Democrats actively engage in the democratic process, ensuring qualified individuals are elected to represent the best interests of the community.
