Morris County Teen Joins Prestigious International Research Olympiad Leadership Team

Inspiring Scientists of the Future to Conduct Cutting-edge Research

PARSIPPANY, N.J. - Jan. 30, 2024 - PRLog -- A Morris County, New Jersey teen Eashan Iyer has been selected to join the leadership team of the prestigious International Research Olympiad (IRO). The IRO is led by renowned Harvard researcher Rishab Jain, TIME's 25 Most Influential Teens and America's Top Young Scientist.

In the past, students from grades 6-12 who were looking for research opportunities at local universities and summer programs lacked the skills to make practical contributions to such programs. The IRO competition is working to transform that.

"I am thrilled to join forces with renowned Harvard researcher Rishab Jain to introduce this
pioneering competition for students interested in scientific research," said Eashan Iyer, a
senior at The Academy for Mathematics, Science and Engineering in Rockaway, NJ and incoming student at Brown University's Class of 2028. "It is also an honor to lead an international team of curious and intellectual high school students."

The 2024 IRO, overseen by the Samyak Science Society, a nonprofit promoting science research and STEM education, seeks to join the group of global science competitions. The IRO aims to foster a passion for research and expand globally, with plans for country-based open examinations, semi-finals, and finals for gold, silver and bronze awards in the future. In the coming years, the board plans on administering examinations on a country-by-country basis, running a camp, and hosting finals at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.

More information is available on the International Research Olympiad website ahead of
the official registration, which opens up in early February.
