Millitec Food Systems Unveils Revolutionary BDN400 Bread De-nester

DERBY, U.K. - Feb. 29, 2024 - PRLog -- Millitec Food Systems Ltd, a leading innovator in automated food processing equipment and robotics, proudly announces the launch of its latest groundbreaking product, the BDN400 bread de-nester. After extensive trials conducted from April to September 2023, Millitec reveals a revolutionary solution that sets new standards in sandwich production lines.

The BDN400 distinguishes itself with an innovative peeling motion, addressing challenges posed by traditional sliding and stab-and-place methods. Traditional methods often result in disruptions or due to sticky bread. Julija Kazakeviciute, Mechanical Designer at Millitec, emphasises the significance of the BDN400 in minimising waste and preserving food appearance. She states, "When we noticed that de-nesters available in the market have the potential to damage products and increase waste, we decided to develop a new method to solve this problem."

The standout feature of BDN400 lies in its fundamentally different de-nesting motion. Utilising rollers to separate the top edge of the bread slice from the loaf ensures ultimate product quality and reduced wastage. Despite challenges faced during design, adjustments to the software have enabled the de-nester to feed 70 bread slices in each lane to the production line per minute effectively.

Key features of BDN400 include:
  • 4 interchangeable feed channels
  • Seamless integration with other machines for a fully automated production line
  • Hygienic design for easy strip-down and cleaning process
  • De-nesting maximum 70 slices per minute per lane, 280 slices in total with 4 lanes
  • Option to add an integral butter applicator
  • The input conveyors hold a buffer of product to eliminate wasteful gaps on the production line
  • The machine will release the product at timed intervals, determined by the rate entered, by varying the speed of the subsequent production conveyor product spacing can be altered
  • The butterer is fed by a heated butter pump/conditioner (HBP) to prevent butter from solidifying in the chilled production environment.

Millitec's commitment to innovation is highlighted by the BDN400's advanced design, offering a reliable, high-quality solution for sandwich production lines. This machinery is set to innovate bread de-nesting, emphasising operational efficiency and product quality.
