Feliciana Wildflower Festival to hold inaugural festival on Saturday, June 1st

The event will be held in locations across East Feliciana Parish, including downtown Clinton and Jackson, Louisiana.

CLINTON, La. - March 20, 2024 - PRLog -- The festival will introduce the world to the Feliciana Wildflower Project, a growing initiative to beautify and educate the Felicianas and beyond. The Feliciana Wildflower Initiative is the brainchild of Mr. Paul Davidson, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and current organic farmer and conservationist located in Clinton, Louisiana. For the past several Spring seasons, Mr. Davidson has become known for planting beautiful wildflower patches around East Feliciana Parish. It was during this undertaking that Mr. Davidson began drumming up interest for the Feliciana Wildflower Project and the Feliciana Wildflower Festival. His lofty vision includes making the Felicianas a tourist destination for Wildflower viewing just like West Texas. Increasing tourism in the Felicianas will in turn, bring in more revenue to the area. He believes that flowers make people feel good exemplifying the beauty of the natural world, something some take for granted in our parish.

The Feliciana Wildflower Festival Committee is currently planning the first of many annual festivals. The festival will include Education for kids and adults alike, Entertainment, Food, Discussion Panels, Shopping, Fun Activities for Kids that includes making wildflower crowns, and much more. It will be held on June 1, 2024, the first Saturday in June, during the Clinton Community Market, and in downtown Jackson, and will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. The USDA-NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service), Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF), Pheasants Forever, East Feliciana 4-H, Louisiana State University Ag Center, Southern University Ag Center, Wisteria Alliance, Maypop Hill, McKowen Farms, H Mercantile, The Green Door at H Mercantile, the Galvez Distillery, and many more educational institutions and businesses are set to be involved with the festival. Attendees will be able to view the beautiful wildflowers as they enter the towns of Clinton and Jackson, as patches of the flowers are being planted in front of businesses and residences on all highways throughout East Feliciana Parish. There will also be a Wildflower Photography Contest; more information is coming soon. It is an exciting time in the Felicianas!
