Absolute Z.RO Sponsors Stirkes and Submissions: Fight For A Cause

Jan. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- Metro Manila, Philippines – December 8, 2007 – Non-professional MMA fighters from all over the metro joined forces to pound cancer into submission last December 8, 2007 at the Sarreal Gym, Banawe, Quezon City. Absolute Z.RO Extreme Sportswear was one of the major sponsors of this charitable event. Other sponsors that were also present included K-1 Extreme Sportshop, Optimum Nutrition, Maxim and Pinoy Fighter. During the introductions, real cancer survivors were invited to step into the ring and the audience extended the gesture of a standing ovation.

“We are honored to have Absolute Z.RO participate in this charitable endeavor” says Ms. Ima Maceda, marketing manager of Strikes and Submissions.  “To be given the opportunity to reach out to these kids makes you realize first-hand who the real fighters are” added Z.RO marketing manager Mr. Kenneth Reyes-Lao.  

Strikes and Submissions is an organized non-professional mixed martial arts event founded early in 2007 by Mr. Del Bacho that provides a venue for competition aiming to develop and promote aspiring young talent before going pro.  The said event, “Fight For A Cause” is the first charity endeavor of Strikes and Submissions and the second stint following a successful showing in June of 2007.

“I can just imagine having to go through what these kids are going through every day reminded me that you have to live life to the fullest.  Being part of this event is truly an eye-opening experience” says Allan Co, spokesperson and sponsored athlete of Absolute Z.RO who was present during the post-event visit to the Philippine Orthopedic Center.    

"Strikes and Submissions represents young blood, the future of the sport," said Reyes-Lao. "They have creative and talented people organizing the events, coupled with the sudden growth spurt of the mixed martial arts community.  Although it’s an MMA event, they do plan to add twists by venturing into other extreme sports early next year.
