Āpphia Productions & New•Yilly Entertainment Launch New Production Companies & Joint Venture

July 15, 2008 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, Calif., – Délé Ogundiran and Adenrele Ojo, Los Angeles-based movie producers for multicultural films, today officially announce the launch of their film production companies, Āpphia Productions (Ogundiran) and NeW•YiLLy Entertainment (Ojo) and fundraising efforts for their first joint movie project, The Untitled Bathroom Project.  Finances raised will support movies currently in development and future projects.  

Since relocating from New York to Los Angeles almost 4 years ago, up-and-coming screen actress, DÉLÉ, and Ovation Award nominated actress, Adenrele Ojo have garnered success working in television, film, and theater productions. Although their faces have gradually become familiar ones on primetime’s best television shows (Ugly Betty and Without A Trace), in independent films (Within and Che Guevara) and the Los Angeles theater scene, the number of quality roles for ethnic actors and actresses are still few and far between.

“Āpphia and NeW•YiLLy are conduits to not only support ethnic performers, but to create additional opportunities for talented filmmakers who need a jump start on their careers,” says Ogundiran. “We’re excited about the new works that we have in the pipeline and hope to receive the financial support we need to bring these brilliant stories to fruition.”

Under the umbrella of their newly formed production companies – Ogundiran and Ojo have co-written and are co-producing their first venture, The Untitled Bathroom Project, a don’t-judge-a-book-by-it’s-cover comedy about one woman’s unforgettable experience in a ladies’ bathroom. The movie, set for shoot in Fall 2008, has already picked up local buzz with its stellar team consisting of noteworthy director Christopher Scott Cherot (Hav Plenty and G), producer, Chadwick Williams (Keys) and commercial cinematographer, Peter Mishara.  According to Ojo, “We have been blessed to have some wonderful people on board to encourage, support and help in many ways.”

Presently in pre-production, Ogundiran and Ojo are seeking financial support from family, friends, colleagues and business associates for The Untitled Bathroom Project. They are also available for meetings with individuals seeking a foothold as an investor in the filmmaking industry.
