Aug. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- Application Service Provider (ASP) and Internet pioneer Tulip Systems, Inc., has been thrown in the middle of the conflict between Russian and the Republic of Georgia.  As a world renowned high bandwidth and broadcast stream hosting service, Tulip currently rebroadcasts the live streams of three Georgian television networks, Rustavi, Imedi and Sapatriarkho TV on the internet.  Since the conflict between Russia and Georgia erupted last week, Tulip has taken repeated cyber attacks to its servers in an attempt to disrupt these and other web operations delivered by Tulip's servers.

"Our owners are American citizens who are Georgian expatriates" said Tom Burling, CFO and acting CEO of Tulip.  "Because of them, we have worked with many Georgian companies on their internet initiatives."  Because of this, Tulip has become the target of cyber terrorists attempting to bring down any and all Georgian websites within the Tulip data center. "What needs to be recognized is that Russia is invading United States businesses as well as sovereign foreign nations", Mr. Burling continued.

Since Friday, Tulip moved the ip address and is presently hosting the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili's personal website (http://www.president.gov.ge).  This site has repeatedly been attacked and disrupted.  "We have been able to trace these malicious attacks directly. They all emanate from Russian IP's and servers" said Jason Jones, key network administrator for Tulip Systems.

These attacks began Saturday August 11th and are still continuing at this time.
