Nov. 20, 2008 - PRLog -- Originally started as an alumni association of the Syracuse University Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp, ESCNY quickly grew from a small alumni group to a large community group through founding members’ referrals and word-of-mouth.  Today, ESCNY has become a membership driven society of business owners as well as an informal alumni group.  ESCNY currently has 33 members and is looking to increase membership for the 2009 calendar of presentations and best practices featured in the Advanced Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp schedule starting in January.

“We are very excited about our schedule for this year and look forward to bringing local entrepreneurs together to stimulate growth of business and the local economy,” said Jeffrey Layhew, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Entrepreneurial Society of CNY.  Guest speakers of the Advanced Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp will include: Baxter Ball, Headmaster of Manlius Pebble Hill School, Dr. John Torrens, former owner of Interactive Therapy Group and current CEO of ITG, and several professors of the Syracuse University Whitman School of Management.

The preliminary schedule of events for the six-track program is as follows:

January 10- Three areas that are key to your success...customer focus, customer focus, and customer focus.

February 7- Business and strategic plans. Do they really matter?

March 7- Are employees worth it?

April 4- Raising money in a challenged economy.

May 2- What happens to your family finances and business the day after you stop working?

June 6- Staying innovative while being a fire fighter.

All classes for the 2009 Advanced Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp will be held from 8:30 a.m.-noon at the Southside Innovation Center, next to Dunk and Bright Furniture.  Previous graduates of “Start-Up: Syracuse’s Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp” and all local entrepreneurs are encouraged to register for the program.  Discounts will be given to all Start-Up Bootcamp graduates.

For registration information, e-mail Jeff Layhew at jeff.layhew@wealthresourcesnetwork.com, or call (315) 471-7833.

ESCNY is also seeking business sponsors interested in being featured with this group of successful business owners.  Sponsorship packages can be customized ranging from one topic to the full, six-track program.  If your company or anyone you know might have an interest in being a sponsor please contact Jeff Layhew at (315) 471-7833.
