On Location Photography: Appreciating the Convenience

Dec. 7, 2008 - PRLog -- Detroit, Mi – Stanley Shelton, owner of J & S Portrait America, was recently interviewed.  When asked about the growing trend of people requesting on location photography, Stanley said, “You have events, like weddings, graduations and family reunions, where you have to be there to truly capture the special moments.  A family photograph, involving young children, is another example of when on location photography is handy.

Stanley recalled a scenario his neighbor described to him when they had professional family photos taken in a studio.   Stanley said, “A young couple in my neighborhood, with 3 pre-school aged children, had a very hectic morning getting everyone dressed and looking their best for photos.  This was especially stressful for the 6-month old baby who couldn’t possibly understand what was going on.  One of the children tripped and fell, staining her dress, on the way to the car; another rubbed against the outside of the car and got dirt on his shirt.  They finally made it to the studio where they had to get everyone out of their coats, straighten their clothing, fix their hair and tend to the upset baby who needs his outfit changed.  It was a nightmare for them!”

Stanley explained how he is able to travel to the family’s home to produce studio quality family photos.   “The family enjoys the convenience of not having to leave their home,” said Stanley.  “I can bring everything I need to create a background or if the customer prefers, I can use their home to produce a family portrait in a natural setting.”
