Miss California International 2009, Hilary Gushwa appears in her Hometown Christmas Parade

Dec. 14, 2008 - PRLog -- The 47th annual Camarillo Christmas Parade was held yesterday morning and this year's theme was "A Green Christmas.”  In the spirit of going green, the park district selected E.J. Harrison & Sons, a local trash disposal company, to serve as the parade's grand marshal.

This year there were about 80 parade applicants.  One of the parade entries was from Crowning Glory Productions and featured Julia Valenzuela (Jr. Miss Ventura County International 2009 from Fillmore), Katie Karp (Teen Ventura County International 2009 from Simi Valley), Dedria Brunett (Teen Gold Coast International 2009 from Camarillo), Meghan Lopez (Miss Ventura County International 2009 from Moorpark), Allison Bowman (Miss Gold Coast International 2009 from Moorpark), and Hilary Gushwa (Miss California International 2009 from Camarillo).

Hilary Gushwa appeared in a 1930’s Model A Convertible, a historical vehicle owned by See’s Candies.  When asked about being able to appear in a historical car Hilary said, “It was so neat to see a car that had been kept up all of these years, and even more exciting that my dad drove me in it in the parade today! I am such a lucky girl that I was allowed to use it....thanks See's Candies!!”

Crowning Glory Productions is an official local preliminary to the California International Pageants.  They are holding the Miss, Teen and Jr. Miss Ventura County International 2010 Pageants in March of 2009.  Ages are 19-29 for Miss, 13-18 for Teen and 11-13 for Jr. Miss.  Areas of Competition include Personal Interview, Aerobic Wear (Teen and Miss Only), Fun Fashion Wear and Evening Gown.  Last year over $18,500 in scholarships and prizes were awarded including exclusive custom jewelry from Torgny & Co. Jewelers of Thousand Oaks featuring 24K White Gold and Diamonds!
