Peta-Gay Lewis, Mrs. Montgomery County International, organizes book distribution to benefit school

Dec. 18, 2008 - PRLog -- On Thursday, March 19, 2009 the Beginning the Journey chapter of Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) will hold it’s first 2009 book drive distribution to benefit local students at Washington Yu Ying Public Charter school.

They are currently procuring funding to purchase books and book donations for this drive. Their goal is to secure 200 books so that each student can have their very own book. This organization would love for you to join their efforts of reaching this goal.

Requirements for books are fairly simple. All that is require is that they are new and appropriate for reader's ages 4-8 years old since the school services pre-kindergartners, kindergarten and first graders.

Community service hours will be provided since this organization is an official Presidential Volunteer Service Award certifying organization.

Beginning the Journey and other Reading Is Fundamental chapters are independent non-profit organizations consisting of local citizens, educators, parents and volunteers that help provide reading materials and activities that foster an interest in reading.  This book distribution fair is organized by the Beginning the Journey chapter of Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) and is not a program of Washington Yu Ying or any other organization.
