Cell Therapy Group Challenges Industry to Support Non-Profit Sector

Jan. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Mountain View, CA  -- The Cell Therapy Group (www.celltherapygroup.com) announced today it has made the financial commitment to support the International Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT) in 2009 through its corporate membership program.

The Group issued a challenge to all its corporate colleagues in the cell therapy and regenerative medicine sector to do the same.  "ISCT is the leading non-profit organization in the sector," stated Cell Therapy Group principle consultant, R. Lee Buckler.  "It is important -  even more so in these tough financial times - that we support the organizations that facilitate and support the growth of the industry."

As part of a payback to companies who support the organization, each company participating in corporate membership of ISCT will be entitled to name a representative to the organization's Commercialization Committee, chaired by Cell Therapy Group's Lee Buckler.

"In 2009, we intend to grow on the strengths of the Commercialization Committee to make it a core activity hub for those interested in pooling resources and commitments to do for the maturation of the cell therapy industry what each company cannot do individually," states Buckler.

"To build a vibrant, mature industry in the cell therapy sector, we need the active commitment and collaboration of stakeholders from government, academics, non-profits, and companies," Buckler concludes. "ISCT provides the infrastructure within this is already taking place and we need to continue to build on its strengths for the benefit of both the industry its serves and the patients who will ultimately benefit from the therapies we intend to bring to market".
