Follow on Google News | Using “Crazy Bride” As A Guide To Favor ShoppingA wedding favor site mixes elegance with messiness and aims to tap in the real emotions of the customers it’s targeting.
By: Jackie Reilly As you leave the sepia toned elegance of Beautiful Wedding Favors home page you are exposed to multiple crudely drawn stick figure brides exhibiting a variety of moods and themes. Meet Crazy Bride, the official mascot of Beautiful Wedding Favors, drawn a variety of ways. “I thought back to all of the different emotions I felt while planning my wedding and this is what came out.” Each one was drawn once and only once and founder Jackie Reilly designed it that way. “The sloppy imperfection of it all captures the irony of wedding planning. We strive for perfection and it’s often a really chaotic, messy process.” The original bride, which serves as its trademark, has a slightly crooked, almost maniacal smile as she poses for one of however many thousands of photos. “At this point, she’s done whatever she can and it’s all up to fate.” Reilly says. “I think original bride captures the essence of the day itself. It says, “It’s my day and I’m ready for whatever comes. It also says, Say I look lovely even if I look like hell.” Crazy Bride serves as the thematic symbol for each different page and she sometimes pays quite a price. In the Winter themed page a snowball is hurtling towards her face. In the Candles themed page her gown is slowly catching aflame while she continues smiling gamely. A fan favorite is the Eco Friendly Themed page which shows Crazy Bride giving a tree an immense bear hug. The veneer finally cracks however at the arrival of the blog titled punningly enough “Here Comes The Blog” Crazy Bride is shown in her gown crying a waterfall of tears into a paint bucket, a direct reminiscence of Jackie’s painting her hallway while processing the latest upset. The Blog is designed to let brides vent with one another, away from well meaning family and friends. “By the time the bride gets to shopping for favors, chances are she’s had several fights with her caterer, photographer, cake maker and has been to her gown shop for several fittings and it’s still not done.” Reilly says. “This blog allows brides to connect in real time with others who are going through it RIGHT NOW.” Beautiful Wedding Favors is pinning its hopes of standing out on the spindly shoulders of its amateurishly drawn mascot. “Brides have multiple options for favor sites. We try to value their time as well as their checkbook. Our goal is to make this one little annoying chore as fun as possible.” # # # A one stop source, allows brides to purchase favors, wedding party gifts and accessories. We’ve got everything you need.
