10th Annual Prayer Breakfast & Silent Auction ~

Feb. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Join the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we celebrate our 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast & Silent Auction on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Cost per ticket is $50 which includes a full breakfast and live entertainment from stellar award winning Gospel group Trin-i-tee 5:7.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization based on Christian principals whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the sorority’s Five Point Thrust of:

•   Economic Development
•   Educational Development
•   International Awareness and Involvement
•   Physical and Mental Health
•   Political Awareness and Involvement

In alignment with the sorority's Five Point Thrust, this event is geared toward raising funds for scholarships and community service programs. Our scholarships are designed to provide students with financial assistance to increase graduate rates of students seeking higher education.  This scholarship opportunity is afforded to students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future through advanced education.

Scholarship awards are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. conducts all of its activities in accordance with the rule that govern organizations whose tax status is 501 (c)(7).
