There is an estimated 170-200 company’s now offering mold services in the triangle. It is believed that out of this number that only around fifty percent are insured and trained within the industry standards.

1.   Ask how long the company has been in business?
2.   Ask how long the company has been offering mold control solutions?
3.   Ask if the project manger and workers are certified and through what organization.
4.   Ask if the company has insurance and if they are registered through the secretary of state office?
5.   Ask for references?

Here are some signs that you should be watching for:

1.   If the quote is lower then the other quotes you have been presented with.
2.   If the proposal is presented on a generic proposal form
3.   If you are unable to find information about the company online through anyone of the major search engines.
4.   Try a reversal phone number look up on the contact number to see if the number is associated with the company in question.

Glover offers these steps as a starting point, but the best thing to do is to make your best judgment call and not rush into signing a contract. Take the time and research the company that you are placing your trust and health to.
