Don't Miss Ho`omau 2009!

Feb. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Aloha Kākou! It’s that time of the year again! Nā Leo Pūlama o Maui presents its 22nd annual day-long fundraiser for Pūnana Leo o Maui (a Hawaiian Immersion preschool) on Saturday, March 21st from 9am ‘til sunset at Keōpūolani Park Amphitheatre. It’s Ho`omau 2009 with our theme this year being: “He Welo Nani Nō”. “He Welo Nani Nō” translates to “A Beautiful Legacy Indeed” and celebrates all the things that makes us Hawaiian; that connect us to this place we call home, be it our language, our mele, our `āina… our people.

This year’s Ho`omau features an exciting and entertaining line-up of homegrown stars like Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winners Kainani Kahaunaele and `Uluwehi Guerrero and his Hālau Kauluokala; Maui favorites Nuff Sedd with Dani Girl, Kohomua, Jason Sadang and his hālau, Kupa`āina, Manali`i, Keahelawemālie, Kawika Regidor, Nā Hanona Kūlike `o Pi`ilani and the keiki of Pūnana Leo o Maui and the Kula Kaiapuni of Maui.

In addition to great entertainment, there’s a live and silent auction featuring some beautiful gifts and prizes as well as Hawaiian arts & crafts vendors, a keiki zone with crafts for the keiki, `ono food and drink booths… you get the picture: There’s something for everyone in your `ohana to enjoy!

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with keiki 10 and under FREE! Tickets can be purchased from the `ohana of Pūnana Leo o Maui or at ticket locations throughout the island. In Kahului you can purchase tickets at the Queen Ka`ahumanu Center Customer Service Desk, at Ruby’s Diner and on Hana Hwy. at Maui Coffee Roaster’s; in Wailuku at both of Uncle Jessie’s Mixed Martial Arts locations and  the Pūnana Leo o Maui campus; in Lahaina at Ka`anapali Beach Hotel or at Hilo Hattie’s, in Kihei at the other Hilo Hattie’s location and upcountry at Kula Garden and Hardware.
