Steve Elias of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center will Host The Fourth Annual Fellows Course

Steve Elias, MD, FACS will teach young vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists the most up to date minimally invasive techniques used to treat vein problems.
 
April 6, 2009 - PRLog -- May 2, 2009 will be the beginning of The fourth Annual Fellows Course in Venous Disease taking place at  Englewood Hospital and medical center. Founded by Dr. Steve Elias MD, FACS FACPH the Course will teach young vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists the most up to date minimally invasive techniques used to treat vein problems. Dr. Elias who is the Director of The Centers for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital began the course in 2005 due to the need for young physicians to learn about the modern management of vein disease.  
 
The Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital is well known for its use of cutting edge techniques which attracts surgeons from across the country. Many tend to be waitlisted for the course while only eighty trainees are accepted per year. The Fellows Course in Vein Disease will bring together vascular surgeons that represent some of the nation’s most prestigious teaching facilities. The course is industry supported and continues to grow each year. Industry partners include: VNUS Medical Technologies, Angiodynamics, BSN Jobst, InaVein, Covidien, Sanofi-Aventis, Cook Medical and Sonosite. The Fellows Course is endorsed by the American Venous Forum and the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery.

About Steve Elias, MD, FACS
Steve Elias is the Director of The Centers for Vein Disease at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Medical Center and at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Steve Elias was recently named by Vein Magazine as one of the 25 most influential professionals in vein care worldwide.  Dr. Elias lectures, publishes, and teaches extensively about minimally invasive vein care and procedures. As Course Director of the Annual Vascular Fellows Course in Venous Disease, he trains young vascular surgeons in the treatment of vein problems. His clinical interests encompass all aspects of vein care: spider veins, varicose veins, perforator and deep venous incompetence, and venous ulcers. He performs all minimally invasive vein procedures and his work at the Center for Vein Disease includes the prevention and treatment of DVT Deep Venous Thrombosis. Dr. Elias is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon and member of the American Venous Forum, the American College of Phlebology, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the International Society of Cardiovascular Surgery. He is a recipient of the Dardik Research and Education Award.
