Silver Star Families of America Strongly Opposes DHS Report

April 15, 2009 - PRLog -- An angry Steve Newton, founder of the Silver Star Families of America, responded to DHS assessment report on rightwing extremism.

“(U//FOUO) The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of

military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities

could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists

capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

“After years of fighting bias and stigma, we now have the United States government saying it is ok to treat our veterans as we did when they returned from Vietnam, Newton said.”

“We will not allow this to happen again.  The report needs to be withdrawn and an apology issued by the DHS.”

“We, alone with other VSA’s will be watching this closely.”
