April 27, 2009 - PRLog -- In April, social media networking helped a small online retailer stage a David and Goliath style victory against major retailers including Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, and Radioshack, when Dreamworthy Gifts won first place in the Most-Wanted Coupon Tournament.

The contest was hosted by WantedCoupons.com, a discount coupon website found at http://www.wantedcoupons.com.

In a surprise upset against major brick and mortar retailers and multiple e-commerce giants, DreamWorthyGifts.com prevailed by receiving the most votes.

Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Kunkle offered, "Frankly, this is a real tribute to the power of Social Media Networking, where we have made some phenomenal friends and fans on sites like Facebook, Digg, LinkedIn - and especially Twitter. Thanks to everyone who voted for us - especially our friends/followers from Twitter, where we participate as "@DreamWorthy"
(http://Twitter.com/DreamWorthy). We wholeheartedly believe that our e-commerce store design, our products, our coupons and promotions, and our values and business principles were an important factor in the contest, but without the support of our social networking fans and customers, a win like this - almost a David and Goliath story - would simply not have been possible. To our friends at Skechers, Football Fanatics and Restaurant.com... congratulations to you for being in the Final Four and for being model businesses to emulate."

DreamWorthy has been an enthusiastic participant in social networking since they first opened up shop online in October 2008; their coupons are advertised primarily through social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The 2009 Most-Wanted Coupon Tournament started in March, with 64 retailer contestants.

The participants ranged from brick and mortar giants with an online presence, such as WalMart, Target, Kohl's and RadioShack, as well as online-only giants such as Amazon.com, GoDaddy.com and Overstock.com, and also included smaller online businesses like DreamWorthyGifts.com.

Starting with these 64 players, a single elimination tournament was
conducted, based on votes received through blog comments or emails sent to WantedCoupon.com.

DreamWorthyGifts.com is a webstore featuring thousands of gifts including home and garden decor, kitchen and bath decor, bath and body care, religious home accents, men’s and women’s accessories, seasonal items, gift cards and more.
