Road Closed for Toga Party

June 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Jacksonville, Florida: Take note Downtown commuters, Forsyth Street from Ocean to Newnan streets will be closed on Friday at 8:00 am until Saturday at 1:00 am to accommodate the street festival A/K/A “TOGA PARTY.”

“The early 1960’s college atmosphere and excitement will come alive” said Jason Isaac, editor of the Jacksonville Confidential, who also confirms that over 100 guests will be showing up donned in their Wearable Towels. (http://www.wearabletowel.com)

The street festival opens up at 5:30 pm on Forsyth Street in front of The Florida Theatre, which will be presenting the classic comedy, “Animal House” (rated R) starring John Belushi at 8:00 pm.

The Alpha Delta Nik Tribute to Animal House Band, a toga contest (you can use your Wearable Towel as a toga), college games, food, beverages and fun will all be part of this Toga party.

Theatre doors open at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale now at the City of Jacksonville Office of Special Events, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and The Florida Theatre Box Office, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Tickets will also be on sale the day of show at The Florida Theatre beginning at 10:00 am. Tickets are $5, cash only.  Space is limited and it is first come, first seated.
