June 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Blogtalkradio's, 'Hospice Radio', premiered November, 2008 during National Hospice Awareness Month, and has fast  become a rising star among internet radio listeners, finding an international niche.  

Dr. Lewis noted this past week,  " I recognized a significant jump in listeners after the Hospice Foundation of America linked to the June 19 , 23rd shows,  'Medical Ethics - Concept of a  Good Death.' The Jewish South Africa TV website hosts my link as well."  At the time of this release, Dr. Lewis reports, the interview-based format has had over 1400 listeners for the four archived programs.

Dr.  Lewis reflected on the success of the show and believes it is content. “Comments made by my recent expert guests were candid and clarified questions many other experts on television and AM radio programs try to avoid answering if they are controversial.”  Questions focused on the foundation of medical ethics and specifically  dealt with care of the aged, the soaring healthcare budget, upcoming healthcare reforms ,  futile care, physician-assisted suicide,  prolonged life-support, rationing care, hospice reform, and the Terri Schiavo case, among other court battles.  Dr. Lewis covered the ground work for medical ethics, providing actual case reviews as examples in the first part of the 2 and a half hour program.  The final part of program discussed Buddhism and end-of-life teaching as they reflect on decision making and ethics with a senior resident teacher, concluding the programs on a reflective note.
Guests included  Dr. Pamela J. Grace, Associate Professor  of  Adult Health & Ethics at Boston College, William F. Connell School of Nursing in Massachusetts, Dr. Harry R. Moody, Academic Director of Academic Affairs, AARP, in Washington, D.C.,  Dr. Kenneth W. Goodman, co-director of the University of Miami’s Ethics Programs, Director of the Ethics Programs' World Health Organization Collaborating Center in Ethics and Global Health Policy, and Kadam Nick Gillespie, Resident Teacher of Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center in Fort Lauderdale.
