Author Sandy Lo First Book Event on July 26th in NYC; Celebrates 8 years with StarShine Ma

July 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Author and editor of StarShine Magazine, SANDY LO, will be celebrating her debut novel LOST IN YOU by signing copies for book club members at Lacey's Bridge Tavern, a family style restaurant in Sandy's hometown of Staten Island, NY on Sunday, July 26, 2009.  The event is open to the public and all forms of media is welcome.  Lacey's Bridge Tavern Book Club will be discussing various novels, and attendees will be able to purchase LOST IN YOU, have it signed by Sandy Lo and discuss it with her as well as her 8 years running StarShine Magazine.

"This is my first event as an author and I'm really excited!" Sandy gushes.  "My family and friends will be there as well as people I don't know who I'm hoping will enjoy my writing."  Along with discussing LOST IN YOU and StarShine, Sandy will be giving a sneak peek into her follow-up novel, DREAM CATCHERS, which she is currently shopping to agencies/publishers.  "I'm so proud of how my writing style has evolved on Dream Catchers.  It's just a really fun story with strong characters that I fell in love with as if they were real people.  I can't wait for the world to read it!"

Sandy's success as the founder and editor of StarShine Magazine has led her to interviewing some of today's hottest stars like Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Ashley Tisdale and her personal favorites from her teenage years, Backstreet Boys and members of 98 Degrees: Nick Lachey & Jeff Timmons.

In fact, Sandy used her knowledge of both pop artists while she wrote LOST IN YOU.  The story is centered around a young woman (Cooper Jackson) who falls in love with a pop star (Ryan Latham), a member of a fictional boy band named Sound Wave. "LOST IN YOU gave me a chance to pay homage to my idols: Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees."  Sandy was even able to get feedback from 98 Degrees alum, Jeff Timmons.  "He was really flattered and we plan to collaborate on promoting each other in the future," she says.

In a review of LOST IN YOU from fellow author and Backstreet Mom, Denise Solis, she says: "Between the delightful banter that will make you chuckle and the drama of young emotions raging off the page, this book will draw you in."  Other positive reviews have been from the popular website kiwibox.com and The Curtis Log (Staten Island).
