Follow on Google News | SKIP Leadership Changes HandsTracy Stiers, who founded SKIP in 2004, has stepped down from the president position. Former executive director and Iraq war veteran Skip Spoerke is SKIP's new president.
Stiers will remain on the SKIP board of directors as the vice president and the executive director title has been temporarily eliminated. When SKIP applied to become a 501(c)(3) in 2006, Spoerke was the vice president. On November 25, 2008 Spoerke was elected as the organization's first executive director to act as the front runner for development and operations of SKIP. Now that the executive director position has been temporarily eliminated, the president will also be responsible for those duties. “Being elected as SKIP's president is an honor and I look forward to successfully leading SKIP through the challenges ahead. Being president is going to be a lot of work, especially without an executive director, but our team is confident and strong, and efficient teamwork is the winning recipe for any nonprofit,” Spoerke said. At the meeting on July 18, 2009, SKIP also elected Karen Montagano as the Assistant Treasurer on the board of directors, elected Shawna Mykes as the Youth Coordinator on the board of directors, accepted board member resignations from Heather and Jeff Jones, and Robin and Bob Bousquet, and welcomed Robin Bousquet to the Administration Committee where she will continue managing SKIP care package requests for deployed military members. # # # SKIP proudly honors and supports deployed members of all 5 branches of the U.S. military to include the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy with entertainment focused care packages.
