Follow on Google News | "Gandhi at the Bat" Returns to the HollyShorts Film Festival"Gandhi at the Bat," winner of the Best Comedy award at the 2008 HollyShorts Film Festival, will play again at this year's fest on Monday, August 10, 5 p.m., at the Sunset Laemmle, as part of a special screening of prize winners from previous years.
By: Mental Slapstick LLC The movie, which was directed by Stephanie Argy and Alec Boehm, won the Best Comedy prize at HollyShorts 2008 and will be part of a program of award winners from the fest's previous years, along with A Letter to Colleen, Beholden, Bloom and Old Days. "Gandhi at the Bat" has played over 30 festivals around the world and won numerous awards, including a prize for filmmaking excellence from the Baseball Hall of Fame Film Festival and a BAFTA honorable mention at the Mill Valley Film Festival. The two directors have since gone on to make their first feature, "The Red Machine," which stars two of the actors from "Gandhi at the Bat" (Lee Perkins and Donal Thoms-Cappello) The HollyShorts festival, which will screen more than 130 shorts, features and music videos, runs from August 6-13.
