Genius, The Handy Spectrophotometer From Standox, Has Been Upgraded.

Aug. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Genius, the handy spectrophotometer from Standox, has been upgraded to offer new and advanced extra functions.
Genius is now able to identify even minor variations from the original vehicle color due to ageing or weathering, when combined with Standox’ latest Standowin software. Standowin now automatically produces a formulation after matching the measured color against some 250,000 formulations contained in the Standox database. The new formulation includes any ageing or weathering-related adjustments required.

Another new feature is the option to store the new formulations generated as customised mixing formulations in the Standowin database. From then on these customised formulations will be available for any future Genius-based color-searches. The data stored may also be exported (e.g. using a USB stick), so databases on other personal computers can be expanded as well.

The connections for remote data transmission have been updated, too. It is now possible to use a USB connection. For experienced PC users, a wireless bluetooth interface is also available. Another advantage of the new interfaces is the automatic recognition of active ports by Standowin.
A protective case will soon be available to keep the device clean even in a busy bodyshop. Another helpful feature is a wrist loop, which can prevent the spectrophotometer from sliding off the vehicle. Genius also comes with an improved calibration box and a multi-lingual operating manual on CD-ROM.
