LINDA STUART is a top Hollywood screenplay consultant and story analyst with top-company credits including PARAMOUNT PICTURES, IMAGINE ENTERTAINMENT, NEW REGENCY, DISNEY, WALDEN MEDIA, PHOENIX PICTURES, CAA, ICM, and the production companies of actresses Meg Ryan and Sally Field. I lectured for 7 years at the prestigious American Film Institute on screenwriting and story analysis.

As a screenwriter, I wrote a romantic comedy that has been optioned twice by producers.

RATES & SERVICES:

BASIC SCREENPLAY COVERAGE: $250

General coverage of a screenplay used by Hollywood story analysts at motion picture studios and production companies. A synopsis plus 3 to 4 pages of commentary which points out the main strengths and weaknesses of the concept, story, structure, character, and dialogue.

Includes a final assessment:

PASS: (rejection)

NOT RECOMMENDED: (still a rejection, but not as harsh as an outright Pass)

QUALIFIED CONSIDER: (advises a company to potentially consider the material with some reservations)

CONSIDER: (advises a company to consider developing or buying the material)

RECOMMENDED: (very rarely given, this highest level of praise from story analysts advises that a company should definitely and immediately take action on a piece of material to buy it and/or develop it)

TYPED DEVELOPMENT NOTES: $600

Extensive typed development notes that include an in-depth analysis of concept, structure, story, character, and dialogue. Itemization of specific scenes, structural flaws, character actions, and pieces of dialogue that could be improved with an eye toward development.

*Additional read with typed polish notes after rewrite: $350


TYPED DEVELOPMENT PLUS HANDWRITTEN NOTES: $1,250

Extensive typed development notes plus page-by-page, line-by-line, word-by-word handwritten notations throughout the project. The handwritten notes pinpoint everything down to the tiniest elements in punctuation, spelling, and grammar.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATION

$125 per hour or $62.25 per 30 minutes

SCREENWRITING REWRITES

LINDA STUART can do rewrites on screenplays. Rates based on the Writers Guild of America “Schedule of Minimums” listed on www.wga.org.

BOOK AND MANUSCRIPT CONSULTING

$325 for the first $250 pages; $20 for every 50 pages thereafter.
Commentary and story editing fees are calculated by the length of the manuscript.  In general, my manuscript editing fees range from $1,000 for typed development notes up to $2,500 (depending on page count) for typed notes PLUS page-by-page handwritten notes throughout the manuscript.

SCRIPT TYPING & FORMATTING            

I am also offering script typing and formatting services at $1.50 per page if the material you submit to me is clearly typed, and $2.50 per page if your original material is handwritten.
