Sept. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Maple Grove Enterprises, a millwright and metal fabrication company in western New York, fabricated a monumental abstract sculpture by renowned artist Albert Paley for the Clay Center in Charleston, WV.

Beginning in April 2009, Maple Grove Enterprises constructed a concrete pad for work on the sculpture. At the same time, thousands of pieces of Cor-Ten and stainless steel for the project arrived on flat beds and soon completely consumed the company's parking lot.

Throughout May, June and July, employees were bending steel, grinding off imperfections, and welding the components together. By August, the entire sculpture was assembled on the company's concrete pad. Once the company's owners and artist Paley was convinced that the sculpture was finished, Maple Grove Enterprises disassembled the piece and shipped it to West Virginia.

The company was then hired by the Clay Center to assemble the sculpture at its final destination. With their experience in assembling it first at their headquarters, the crew at Maple Grove Enterprises was able to have the entire sculpture erected in only 9 days. The completed sculpture, named "Hallelujah," stands over 64 feet tall and weighs nearly 200,000 pounds!
