The program, hosted by longtime New York radio host and political commentator Mark Riley, airs Saturday afternoons from 2-5PM EST. "This program is actually inspired by my father," says Riley. "He not only embodied the American work ethic, but he taught me to have an abiding respect for working people, no matter how much they were paid in salary. "My dad worked for the post office for 40 years, then worked another 15 at a hospital in Connecticut," "Working New York" is a platform for people who are working, people looking for work, and people who have worked all their lives and are now retired. It's a show for unionized workers, workers fighting to maintain their jobs, and all those New Yorkers who work hard to keep this city alive and well. According to WWRL Program Director Rennie Bishop, "the consummate broadcast professional that is Mark Riley, and his unique New York knowledge, makes his contribution invaluable in these times of high unemployment, job insecurity and economic anxiety. Our listeners are definitely the winners." Mark Riley will be talking to elected officials, union officials, labor experts, and more. "But most important," says Riley, "we'll be talking to you, the hard working men and women of the New York City tri-state area." WWRL proudly boasts the most progressive talk in the nation.
