"A Woman's Work" Canadian Artist Has Solo Exhibition

Oct. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- A North Bay native, Mandy Saile (a.k.a. “Bijou” of ‘Bijou’s Whimsy’) graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1999 where she studied illustration, communication and design. Her preferred medium is her set of high quality Prismacolor pencils with which she masterfully creates rich, vibrant, and refreshingly whimsical works.

For this exhibition, Mandy was inspired by the beauty, generosity, strength, and nurturing characteristics of the women around her. She acknowledges the women who are uniquely tuned in to the natural world, who persevere and continue to encourage others despite their own hardships, and who struggle but never entirely give up hope. She says that, “the essence of this exhibition is a celebration of a woman’s power and all of our different ‘jobs’, possibilities and paths.”  

“A Woman’s Work” will run from October 2nd to 28th, at Art on Main’s AOM Gallery, located downtown at 143 Main Street West. Our hours are from 9:30 to 4:30, Monday through Saturday.

The Opening Reception for “A Woman’s Work” is on Saturday, October 3rd from 7 to 9 p.m., and is part of the Downtown Gallery Hop coordinated with four other galleries that same evening.
