Follow on Google News | Video Game Marathon to Raise Money for Child's Play CharityStarting Friday, November 27, gamers from Raleigh, NC will host a 1,000 song internet marathon from the "Rock Band" video game series to benefit Child's Play, a charity which donates toys, games, and books to children's hospitals worldwide.
By: Joey DeSena & Daniel Cordaro "After seeing the success of other game marathons online, we felt we could do something similar to help out,” said Joey DeSena, event co-coordinator. "And we think that doing something like this would entertain people enough to donate. We can accomplish much more for the charity together in this way than any of us could do alone." Event co-coordinator Daniel Cordaro added, "With the way video games are negatively portrayed by popular media, we hope that the marathon will also emphasize the positive contributions gamers make to the community."
