Columbus Rapper Lands Coveted International Streetwear Sponsorship

Oct. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Columbus, OH / Bloomington, IN – Dope Couture, an international clothing line and boutique, carried in over 21 premium locations worldwide, has chosen Columbus rap artist, NiQ, as their newest icon. NiQ will be used as a brand ambassador for the already powerfully marketed brand, which has been seen casually on the likes of Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Drake, Mick Boogie, Mike Posner, Wale, and other celebrities in recent months.

NiQ will be seen in print, web, and video media in this ambassador aspect, as well as promoting the brand at industry events and his own shows, drawing the eyes of the lucrative youth and young professionals market to the line. The two will also be closely involved in marketing NiQ’s upcoming mixtape “Bang My Sh*t” with Dope Couture favorite, DJ Benzi.

In the last year, NiQ’s popularity has risen dramatically, not only with the release of “Monopoly,” but also “SEC: The Mixtape.” The years’ accomplishments and honors include him being named one of Urb.com’s Next1000, a list of urban artists to watch in the upcoming year, and being placed on “The Sounds of Columbus 2009," Columbus Alive’s yearly compilation of local talent - NiQ was one of only two hip-hop talents handpicked out of Ohio’s most gifted musicians and bands.  He has performed at nearly two dozen venues throughout Columbus, including Club Ice, Screamin Willies and BoMA.

   NiQ is performing next Thursday, November 5th at “The Official Talib Kweli Campus PreParty"  where he will be headlining a live rap show, featuring Columbus’s best and brightest acts, to be held at the Oldfield’s High St location.
