Oct. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Susie Duboe Bryant, owner of Hinsdale Furriers, is proving herself the unchallenged queen of recyclers. Not only does “This Old Fur” sell gently used furs, but Duboe Bryant is opening “Formally Hers,” an upscale consignment shop of ladies’ formal wear, cocktail dresses, bridal wear, designer shoes and evening purses.

“Formally Hers” will debut with a Preview Charity Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hinsdale Furriers, 33 E. First St., 2nd Floor, Hinsdale. The public is welcome to see the selection and enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres. Fashions will be modeled throughout the evening.

A percentage of sales will be donated to Hinsdale Elementary School District 181 Foundation which is an independent, community based non-profit corporation dedicated to supplementing and enriching the educational experience for students in District 181.

“We’ve been taking in garments since mid July, so we have an extensive collection of evening gowns suitable for winter galas, weddings, and parties, from size 2 to size 22,” said Duboe Bryant. “Many of these dresses, many by well known designers, have been worn only once. We have St. John, Armani, Escada, shoes by Jimmy Choo and even a Judith Lieber evening bag.”

The final selling price is split 50/50 by the original owner of the item and “Formally Hers.” There are no fees or complicated percentages to figure out. Garments can be on display for a maximum of 90 days. After the sale of an item, the original owner will receive a check within 30 days.

On Monday, Feb. 15, “Formally Hers” will begin accepting spring and summer formal wear. All garments must be in excellent, ready-to-sell condition. They must be cleaned, pressed and on hangers.

“I believe that ‘Formally Hers’ is a way for people to purchase a very affordable and stunning black tie gown, wedding dress, or party outfit,” said Duboe Bryant. “It’s a shame never to wear such beautiful dresses again or just a few times. ‘Formally Hers’ is the ultimate in sharing. It’s win-win-win.”
