Dec. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Celebrate the holidays “Running of the Santas” style—just grab your favorite Santa suit, coolest 21+ friends and be ready to “Ho! Ho! Ho!” as tickets hit the box office on October 1 for this one-day event, slated for Saturday December 19.

This year’s Northern Liberties-based bash, sponsored by Heyphilly.com, 95.7 BEN FM, Steven Singer Jewelers and Absolut will include charity benefits, live music and (of course) the infamous parade where thousands of red-and-white-clad Santas make the trek from Finnigan’s Wake (the South Pole) to The Electric Factory (the North Pole).
The party kicks-off at noon, where the Electric Factory will feature eight live bands, including Mr. Greengenes and one of MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crews”, Phresh Select. You’ll also find action at ten lucky watering holes throughout Philadelphia and South Jersey, which will prep locals for the South Pole’s 3pm Sexiest Santa contest, sponsored by Steven Singer Jewelers.

At 6pm, thousands of Santas will make the three-block run through the streets of Philadelphia from Finnigan’s Wake to the Electric Factory for an indoor/outdoor festival, simultaneous with the Santa “run” that has expanded to 25 other cities. This year’s festival is setting up shop for a record number of participants expected to attend with a huge tent and (of course) access to the large indoor area inside the venue. Local vendors will be on-hand providing everything from chair massages to airbrushed tattoos, not to mention plenty of food and beverage to keep the party kicking until 2AM.

A portion of the ticket sales will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, FOP #5 Survivor’s Fund, and The Ellie Koerner Leukemia Foundation.
