Follow on Google News | North Carolina Libraries To Offer 318 New eBooks For Library PatronsBeginning December 14th, North Carolina libraries will offer their library patrons 318 new eBooks made available through NC LIVE with a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the State Library of North Carolina.
By: NC LIVE The new eBooks, with subjects focusing primarily on classic literature, history, biography, language learning, health, and medicine, are available to library patrons both within North Carolina libraries, and remotely via any Internet connection. Patrons at all 197 NC LIVE member libraries have free online access to the new collection of eBooks through their local library’s website and from www.nclive.org. Members of the NC LIVE staff are excited to offer the new content to libraries across North Carolina. “Budgets are tight right now and many libraries are unable to bring anything new to their patrons. By purchasing these eBooks collaboratively, the whole state will benefit,” said Jill Robinson Morris, NC LIVE Outreach & Promotions Librarian. NC LIVE, North Carolina’s statewide online library, purchased the eBooks through Ingram Digital and will make the books available through their MyiLibrary® platform. MyiLibrary® Readers can view the books online without downloading any material and no proprietary eBook reader is needed to view the books. Rich Rosy, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Library Services and Institutional Solutions said, “We are delighted to be working with NC LIVE to help deliver new electronic content to participating public and academic libraries across the state.” Mr. Rosy continued, ”NC LIVE is an innovator in the library community. We’re pleased to be part of their efforts to respond to the needs of their users and look forward to helping them achieve long-term value and success through our digital program.” About NC LIVE NC LIVE is North Carolina’s statewide online library.
