Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys Features Woodhall Wine Cellars

Dec. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Woodhall Wine Cellars will feature table whites, reds, and sweeter wines during the Radisson Hotel at Cross Key’s Wine Wednesday event, Dec. 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. The free wine tasting will be in the Crossroads Lounge with table as well as bar seating for guests to enjoy samples of the local Maryland wine as well as appetizers specially made to be paired with the available wines.  

Woodhall was established in 1983 as a boutique family winery dedicated to producing fine table wine for the Mid-Atlantic region. Over the years, the vineyard has expanded the line of wines from an initial offering of five varieties to a standard offering of 12 varieties, plus several limited-quantity specialty wines available on a seasonal basis. Woodhall produces a full range of table wines from Maryland-grown grapes, including dry, sweet, and dessert styles. The wines are segmented into three groups, each delivering good value: inexpensive everyday wines; mid-priced premium wines; and rich, complex super varietals.

The new Wine Wednesday is a relaxed and educational event that supports Maryland wineries. On December 16 guests will hear from Woodhall Wine Cellars representatives about the wines available for tasting and Don Crowther, Executive Chef at Crossroads Restaurant will provide samples of appetizers so guests can experience the pairing of the wines with freshly prepared food. In addition to the tasting, guests will have the opportunity to purchase the Woodhall wines by the glass or the bottle for consumption in the restaurant or bar. Thanks to a new Maryland law, unfinished bottles may be corked and bagged for guests to take home.

The Crossroads Lounge at the Radisson Hotel in the Village of Cross Keys offers an intimate setting for guests to enjoy a night of wine tasting and education. The event is informal and guests are encouraged to stop in for as long as they are able to stay. The new Wine Wednesdays are free and open to the public and are from 6:30-8 p.m. Free covered parking at the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys is also available. The next confirmed Wine Wednesday is January 13 and will feature wines from Boordy Vineyards.
