Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system, made up of a network of satellites. Each GPS receiver then provides the three-dimensional location (latitude, longitude, and altitude) plus the time. The receiver with an antenna is tuned to the frequencies of transmitted signal.
