Jan. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- “Ukraine and the World. Beauty, strength, wisdom, strife, struggles, desires, admiration, respect, intelligence, rich history, a prolific people, or a lavish culture are not exclusive to any one nation.” Roksolana Tymiak-Lonchyna.

“TO UKRAINE WITH LOVE” an exhibit of photographs by Roksolana Tymiak-Lonchyna opens on Saturday, February 6th at 7:00 pm.  The exhibit continues through February 28th.

Dr. Tymiak-Lonchyna enjoys photographing in many countries throughout the world, but always returns to Ukraine, since her love for the country and its people is unsurpassed by that of any other place.  Very comfortable behind the lens, Roksolana has found that people everywhere have much in common. She focuses on human conditions and the impact they have on life, and she captures the splendor of landscapes that surround its peoples.

Roksolana Tymiak-Lonchyna compares Ukraine with other countries, showing through photography that her love for her own heritage is as strong as her respect for the heritage of others. Her exhibit strives to show that Ukraine and Ukrainians have always had much to offer; strong character, magnificent landscapes, rich culture, notable history, and significant architecture.  In their daily battle to persevere, to succeed, to be free and happy, to foster a better life for themselves and their sons and daughters, they all work hard to fulfill these dreams under the same sky of all nations.

The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago. Hours: Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm  Admission: Adults $5.00, Children under 12 - Free.
