New Government Grant for Proof of Concept,Prototype,Product Development:Commercialisation Australia

Jan. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- LX Innovations, a specialist in the development of low power electronic and wireless designs, has announced the availability of a new government grant scheme beginning in January 2010. The grants can assist businesses with the funds necessary for the development of electronic, firmware and software concepts, prototypes and products.

As announced in the 2009-10 Budget, the Australian Government is establishing Commercialisation Australia to provide a radical new approach to commercialising promising Australian research and ideas. The grants are designed to assist entrepreneurs, researchers and cutting edge firms turn ideas into feasible products and ventures.

"Commercialisation Australia is a new Australian Government initiative that will take a radically different approach to commercialising Australian research and ideas.

Commercialisation Australia Grants offered include:

   * Proof of concept grants with offerings of $50,000 to $250,000 to examine the suitability of ideas and concepts  in the commercial market place
   * Repayable grants from $250,000 to $2,000,000 to advance  products or concepts to the marketing stage
   * Up to $50,000 to retain expert services and advice
