This app features an item in a comic book storyline and is “much more than just a doc reader app."
By: aHandSoft, Inc. The Comic Book Meter user views “The Meter,” an item in the storyline of the comic hero story previewed in this application. This item, The Meter, activates by touching on the iPhone screen or shaking the iPhone. These actions results in dramatic events presented to the user for an entertainment. The app has user adjustable settings to alter the "dramatic action probability to more positive to more negative" and activation of dramatic voices of the comic book characters spoken to the app user. Comic Book artist Charlie Irons, of the San Francisco Bay Area, created the application artwork. Charlie describes the Comic Book Meter as "from yesterday’s comics to today’s iPhone." Most notable is that a comic book page reader is present in the application showing pages previewing the first aHandSoft comic book storyline. This reader lets the user browse, zoom and pan using the iPhone's multi-touch interface to see vivid details of these comic pages. aHandSoft Inc. Marketing Director and Editor, Kelly Chambers, says the Comic Hero Meter is "The latest ‘App for Friends’ iPhone app following the successful holiday launch of the ‘Santa Naughty Nice Detector’ last November." Kelly further states, "There are generations of people out there that love comic books. Extending out our social meter concept to the comic book genre was a natural growth of our holiday product." According to Steve Sabram, founder of aHandSoft, "All of the success of our first iPhone app has been focused into this new iPhone app. We are proud to enter the genre of comic books to entertain and inspire for many generations to create the careers and lives they have now.” The Comic Hero Meter, using the search words "comic," “comic book,” or “comic hero meter” shows the app on the Apple iPhone store.
