Feb. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- You probably must have experienced when your PC just don’t want to quit. You can’t normally shut it down, so you have to hold down the power key until it turns off. Slow PC shutdown happens often enough if you are using the Windows OS.

Unfortunately, it’s not really wise to keep on holding down the power key for as long as it takes to shut down your computer. You are in fact, only endangering your system. If you don’t lose all your data altogether, you may find it harder to start your system up than to shut it down.

It’s good to know that you can be able to shut down slow PC without having to take drastic means and risk your system in the process. First, though, you must understand the reason why your PC slows down. As you must know, your computer has a registry, a sort of storage bank for information. After some time, this registry becomes clogged with files, many of which are no longer valid while some are even corrupted. The thing is, your system still recognizes them because they are still there lurking somewhere, but now the processing takes longer and becomes more difficult.

If you are finding it hard to follow, just think of driving along a road with many rocks. For sure, you cannot expect yourself to be able to get to where you want to go under the circumstances. It’s roughly the same with the computer registry in which the corrupted files are thought to be stumbling blocks to the processing of information.

It is only essential that the road be cleared of stumbling blocks if you want your car to go fast. In the same way, in order for you not to experience slow shutdown of your PC you should take steps to clean up your registry.

Manually fixing the registry errors, though, is best left in the hands of the expert. It can be tricky, and an overwhelming experience. Also, if you are not equipped with the right knowledge, you can end up hurting your system all the more. You may delete files that are not supposed to be deleted at all.

On the other hand, if you insist of doing it all by yourself, then you must invest on a registry cleaner, a software application that’s automated and reliable. What this software does is scan your registry and then delete or edit those unnecessary files.

Software programs like this enable you to solve your problem with regards to slow PC shutdown. However, before purchasing the product, take time to read what other customers and experts are saying with regards to the various registry cleaners around.
