Feb. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- CelebrityBabyScoop.com is shining the spotlight on 6 amazing women competing for gold in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  These remarkable women are celebrities in their own right.  Not only are they doting mothers, but they have also found time to train and compete for gold in the most famous sporting event of all time.

Olympic hockey player, Jenny Potter, recently sat down with CelebrityBabyScoop.com to talk about her role as a mother and celebrity athlete.  Potter is competing in her fourth Olympics and is a mom to daughter Maddy, 8 1/2, and son Cullen, 2 1/2.  Like so many mothers, Potter admits it’s difficult to balance work and life at times.  "It is pretty hard to manage all the stuff I need to get done during the day,” says Potter, “but I have a great husband and family support that makes it more manageable."

Olympic athletes hold somewhat of a celebrity status, especially those like Potter who already has 3 Olympic medals.  According to Potter, her role as an athlete has fulfilled her life in so many ways, “I’ve gotten to travel the world, meet all kinds of people-- including the President of the United States.”

So how does one celebrity athlete and super mom handle all of this pressure? “My family keeps me grounded,” says Potter.

Other Olympic moms competing in Vancouver include Sarah Schleper of the Slalom, Natalie Nicholson of the Curling Team and Noelle Pikus Pace of the Skeleton.

Many of these women are no stranger to the Olympic Games.  Sarah Schleper, who welcomed her son in January of 2008, is a four time returning Olympic competitor.  Sarah trained for the Winter Olympics until she was 8 ½ months pregnant.  Even more amazing, she was back in shape to hit the slopes just 40 days after giving birth!

According to Lisa Weber, founder of CelebrityBabyScoop.com, these women give a new meaning to the term Working Mother.  “The unwavering commitment these women have shown to their families and their profession is highly commendable.  They really deserve to be celebrated for their dedication,” says Weber.

CelebrityBabyScoop.com wishes the best of luck to all working moms competing in this year’s Olympic Games.
