New PML Transmission Pan for Hot Rods and Muscle Cars

The 200-4R transmission has gained popularity with muscle cars and hot rods wanting a high performance bolt-in overdrive transmission. PML designed and manufactured a new pan in response to transmission shop requirements for these vehicles.

Feb. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- PML announces a low profile transmission pan for the GM 200–4R. PML developed this pan in response to requests from the performance automatic overdrive transmission market. PML has had a deep extra capacity 200–4R transmission pan since 2003 and designed this low profile version to accommodate applications with little clearance.

Compared with the stock pan, this low profile pan features fins and aluminum construction for cooling and a drain for easy oil changes. Stock pans are thin stamped steel and this PML transmission pan has thick walls to increase the torsional strength of the transmission case and a thick, machined gasket flange for a leak-free seal.

GM used the 200–4R from 1982-1990 in vehicles such as the the Monte Carlo SS, Grand National, and Regal T Type. This transmission has gained popularity with muscle cars and hot rods wanting a high performance bolt-in overdrive transmission.

The transmission pan has stock capacity and is 3 1/8-inches tall from the gasket surface to the fin top so it is slightly taller than stock.

The pan includes mounting bolts and a magnetic drain plug to collect any metal bits, keeping the oil cleaner. There is also a cast-in boss that can be machined for a temperature sensor.

Made in the USA.

PML offers this transmission pan in three finishes: cast aluminum, black powder coat with shaved fins, and polished. The PML part number is 11070. Pictures and dimensions are available on our website: http://www.yourcovers.com/transpan_11070.php
