Xabi Alonso, with an own goal after 10 minutes, and Dragutinovic, at 52, in a goal that left Casillas looking bad for the picture, put the visitors ahead, while silencing the Bernabeu stadium,  but soon after, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, started the Madrid comeback with his 13th goal of the season on the 60th minute.

Real Madrid totally dominated the second half and with Diego Maradona watching in the stands, Sergio Ramos got the equalizer (64m) and Van der Vaart sent the fans home into delirium, when an incomplete save by keeper Palop ensured Real Madrid’s triumph 2 minutes into compensation time at (92m).
