Charlotte mother of four WINS Mrs. North Carolina International 2010

Cynthia Griner crowned Mrs. North Carolina International on February 27th, 2010 at Southwest Guilford High School in High Point.

March 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Cynthia Griner of Charlotte, NC was crowned Mrs. North Carolina International 2010 on February 27th, 2010 at Southwest Guilford High School in High Point, NC.  This was her second time competing in this prestigious pageant, which honors married women through-out the country and the charitable work that they perform.  As a state title holder, she will now compete at the National Mrs. International 2010 pageant in Chicago, IL on July 17th, 2010.

Cynthia is an Alzheimer’s Advocate and the founder and CEO of “PURPLE PASSION 4 Alzheimer’s”, which is a non-profit in honor of her grandmother Irene Albert.  Her Platform Mission is to educate caretakers and support the Alzheimer’s afflicted.

"It is so important for care takers to take care of themselves so they have the patience and understanding to take care of their loved one's that are afflicted by the disease."


Cynthia's Purple Passion began through an epiphany of three events. She moved back home to Charlotte, celebrated her 40th birthday, and her Grandfather ~ Robert A. Albert Sr., who was a victim of Alzheimer's for 20 years passed in January 2007. Her husband’s Grandfather ~ Kelton Virnelson also was a victim of Alzheimer's.

Having been married to her husband Joseph for 19 years, she is the proud mother of four busy boys Andrew 16, Taylor 15, Grayson 10, and Coles-Albert 4.

Cynthia made her theatre debut in “A Christmas Carol” at Theatre Charlotte this past December as the Ghost of Christmas Past.  As a Screen Actor Guild member she is signed with Wilhelmina/Evolution in Charlotte.  She has been cast in National commercials in principal roles for AVON, Verizon Network, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and in Infomercials as the “Demonstrator Girl “ for Victorian House Concentrated Coffee and as the “After Girl” for “Perfect Plate.”  Cynthia has also been featured in local commercials for T-Mobile, Bloom, and Home Depot.  Her family was featured in the 2006 HGTV Dream Home located in Lake Lure, NC resale Industrial Video and print work.

Cynthia enjoys walk and talks, Friday family movie nights, cycling, aerobics, Wii Fit, painting, playing Canasta, listening to music, dancing, reading, watching movies, and baking.    

Mrs. North Carolina International Pageant is open to married women age 21 to 56 as of July 1st of the competition year.  The pageant uplifts women who want to excel in their lives and make a difference in their communities, and celebrates their energy, commitment to marriage and family, and their desire to challenge themselves.

The mission of PURPLE PASSION 4 Alzheimer’s is to raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer's, with particular concern for the CAREGIVERS of Alzheimer’s patients. We will achieve our goals through the following activities:

* Sponsor those CAREGIVERS seeking Memory Care services for their loved ones.
* Be a resource for CAREGIVERS to educate them on the different Memory Care options that are available to them
* Support the various Alzheimer’s non-profit organizations and associations that provide Memory Care services, as well as promote awareness.
