VPA also has offices in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin and Virginia. The Florence, Ky. office covers northern Kentucky, including Boone, Pendleton, Kenton, Campbell, Bracken, Grant and Gallatin Counties. Kessler comes to VPA after serving as a solo practitioner in Ludlow, Ky., where he has worked since 1988. During that time, he also held a position as the medical director/staff physician (primary care) at the Boone County Detention Center. Kessler held a similar capacity in primary care from 1987-1995 with Locum Tenens Assignments. From 1982 to 1987, he gained valuable experience in Emergency Medicine and EMT/Paramedic Training while working in the Suburban General Emergency Room, Covington Health Center and Aliquippa Hospital Emergency Room. He also served as a house physician at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in northern Kentucky during that time. Kessler earned his medical doctorate from American University of Caribbean in 1981 and completed both his internship and professional externship at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
