All too often these seniors mouth is neglected, leading to a loss in appetite, which eventually may lead to a loss in life expectancy due to the lack of nutrition.

Dr. Gaeta adds, “Its not surprising, because when teeth are missing, the jawbone deteriorates, making it difficult and often painful for people to wear their dentures. Without functional teeth, these patients become orally challenged, unable to chew properly with or without their dentures Nutritional intake is compromised, leading to a decline in health. And it’s not necessary”.
